This is the page for family and friends. It's not kept up as much as it should be, as my blogs have pretty much taken over the function that this page used to serve. But, I do put photos here, and will do so again soon. Keep in touch as I redesign this site.
My eBook on expat life in Bali is now available for purchase. Please click on the link to learn more about this book that you'll want to read if you plan on moving to Bali.

10 weeks ago, I said that I would have time to get everything done. How wrong I was. There just seems to be one thing after the next to take care of or to do or to watch. Retirement has been busy to say the least.
As you'll see above, I completed the eBook on Bali. Now, I'm just waiting to see if anyone is going to buy it. I've started sending out notices to people who said that they were interested before, so I'll see how that goes. Anyway, I'm glad that it's over. I was getting tired of it. I'm already started on a book on international schools and international education. Right now, I'm really interested in that project although as the time passes, I'm sure that I'll be looking for the next book - the novel - to work on.
Nothing is going on with the house in Sumbawa. Some new teachers over at Newmont were supposed to rent it, but that has been a while now and they still haven't been hired. So in the meantime, we're just waiting to see what is going to happen with it. Personally, I'd like to sell it and get on with the things we have to do here which are more than enough to deal with.
The kids are all in school and seem to have adjusted to new schools and to being back in Bali. Su keeps busy with friends and cooking; I keep busy with writing and reading. I really enjoy having time to myself and not having to deal with bureaucrats and school issues.
Kamala came for a visit, and Su used that as an excuse to fix up everything on the house that needed to be repaired. It cost some money, but the house looks a lot nicer now. I took Kamala around to various parts of the island, but didn't get to do all that she wanted to do - my back just won't take driving a lot anymore. One of those things about age.
My visa issues were all taken care of, and I'm on a retirement visa now which is nice. I have to see if I can get my driver's license renewed next month.
I found some old photos that I want to scan when I get around to it. I'm working on the second book as I said, and trying to catch up on the blogs. I snorkel every morning for exercise and then pretty much write most of the rest of the time.
No new scans right now, but here is the link to the first four (soon to be back online). I'd still like to get some more old photos so if you have photos send them.
The built-in guestbook is gone, and I'm working to find a script to put in here to get one back. But in the meantime, if you click on this link you can go to my new guestbook and leave a message there.
I'm testing out a video page. Click here to see the first test.
