Welcome to the Curriculum page
If you've been a teacher for any length of time, you surely have gotten stuck with writing curriculum. Over the past twenty-five years of teaching, I've written more curriculum documents than I care to remember - some were quite good, and others were fair at best. But, you don't want to have to reinvent the wheel, as we always say when stuck with the task of rewriting curriculum, so what do we do these days? We go to the internet to find some good curriculum and then adapt it for our own particular needs. So, what follows are curriculum documents that I've used, or wanted to use.
California State Board of Education Content Standards - Standards and Frameworks, has the knowledge, concepts and skills that students are expected to meet for each grade level.
International Primary Curriculum, is a curriculum designed for international schools. The IPC first came out in 2000 and, according to its website, is now being used in over 1,000 schools in 65 countries. Schools have to become paying members to use this curriculum, similar to the IB curriculum.
North
Carolina Social Studies Curriculum, has the social studies
curriculum for North Carolina.
Ontario Ministry of Education: Curriculum and Policy, has its elementary and secondary curriculum online.
